Vârciorog Waterfall is one of the most accessible waterfalls in Arieșeni and a cool escape inside the forest. With a drop of about 16 metres, it is a popular destination for short hikes, picnics and nature photography.
What is Vârciorog Waterfall?
Vârciorog Waterfall drops around 16 metres over three limestone steps polished by millennia of water. The fall forms a small natural pool at its base where you can cool your feet in summer. The site lies inside Apuseni Nature Park and is loved for its untouched feel.
How do you get there?
From Cabana de Sub Deal the waterfall is just 5 km away. About 10 minutes by car to the trailhead, then roughly 30 minutes on a blue-marked path through a beautiful beech and fir forest.
How long does the visit take?
Count 2–3 hours in total — drive, hike and time for photos or a picnic at the waterfall. The trail is easy enough for children and casual walkers.
